Liv joined us for a week of work experience, and she quickly became an integral part of the Marketing and Communications team during one of the most exciting times of the year: the planning and execution of DRG’s very first charity ball. With enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to learn, Liv dove straight into the world of branding, design, and event prep.

One of Liv’s first tasks involved contributing to the charity ball’s social media strategy. She helped draft and schedule posts for the DRG Group, learning how to align content with branding goals and timelines. Not only that — Liv also got hands-on with Canva, the graphic design platform, where she helped create stunning visual artwork that was proudly displayed at the ball.

As the week unfolded, Liv took on even more responsibilities, including the creation of PowerPoint presentations for the auction, ensuring everything looked polished and professional for the big night.

One of the standout elements of the evening was the Tree of Life, a beautiful way for guests to get involved in donating. Liv played a big role in bringing this to life — from organising and photographing Tree of Life gifts, to designing pages that showcased donor logos, and even numbering each gift so they could be easily matched with the corresponding swap cards.

To ensure the swap process ran smoothly, Liv updated existing templates from Maggie’s to match DRG branding, making sure each card was ready for the guests who had donated larger gifts that couldn't fit in envelopes.

In the final lead-up to the event, Liv’s attention to detail shone through. She printed essential materials like name cards, laminated vouchers, and printed out details for the “Heads or Tails” game, which were placed on tables along with donation envelopes.

Every little detail contributed to what was a beautifully executed and meaningful evening, and Liv was at the heart of it all.
